Rankings Freeze and Play-In Dates Summary

5A Football

16-team OSAA bracket

  1. Automatic Qualifiers – Eleven teams automatically qualify for the OSAA’s 16-team bracket based on regular season and/or special district tournament play on or before Friday, November 1. Each league / special district determines how they will select their allotted playoff spots.

    Intermountain – 2; Special District 1 – 2; Special District 2 - 2; Special District 3 - 2; Special District 4 - 3

    Intermountain - Mountain View, Summit
    Special District 1 - Glencoe, Hillsboro
    Special District 2 - Silverton, Wilsonville
    Special District 3 - West Albany, Dallas
    Special District 4 - Churchill, Willamette, Thurston

  2. Rankings Freeze Date – The rankings will freeze at 10pm on Friday, November 1.

  3. At-Large Qualifiers – Five additional teams will qualify for the OSAA's 16-team bracket based on the OSAA rankings. Once the rankings are frozen, the five highest ranked team not already an automatic special district qualifier will qualify as At-Large teams.

    At-Large #1 - Lebanon
    At-Large #2 - Central/Kings Valley Charter
    At-Large #3 - Bend
    At-Large #4 - Hood River Valley
    At-Large #5 - LaSalle Prep

  4. Rankings – Once the 16 qualifying teams are determined, they will be placed on the OSAA brackets according to OSAA Executive Board Policy "State Championships – Rankings".
