WILSONVILLE, Ore. – With a commitment to developing future leaders, the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) will sponsor an Aspiring Captains Camp, Saturday, Oct. 19, at Tigard High School.

Current Oregon State Women’s Basketball assistant coach, and Oregon State Hall of Famer, Sydney Wiese, will deliver the keynote address. A leader of the Beavers’ 2016 Final Four squad, Wiese went on to have a five-year professional career in the WNBA and overseas before embarking upon a coaching career.

The camp will also feature breakout sessions focused on character development, defining success, conflict resolution and sportsmanship. The camp will culminate with a sportsmanship challenge.

Saturday’s event came together thanks to the work of OSAA staff members Missy Smith and Randi Davis. Over 500 students and coaches registered for the camp.
