Newberg holds inside track against Roseburg in 6A; Crescent Valley, Sweet Home, Burns and Culver in first place

A breakdown of the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union wrestling championships, through Saturday's semifinals, at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, courtesy of Jeff Drumm:

  1. Newberg 296.5. Went 3/8 in semifinals, and had 13 total placers. Has clinched first place.
  2. Roseburg 254.5. Went 4/7 in semifinals, and had 11 total placers. Has clinched second place.
  3. Mountain View 200.5. Went 4/6 in semifinals and had 7 total placers. Has clinched third place.
  4. Sprague 167.5. Went 4/6 in semifinals and had 6 total placers.
  5. West Linn 153. Went 3/5 in semifinals and had 5 total placers.

  1. Crescent Valley 256. Went 10/11 in the semifinals. Had 11 total placers. Has clinched first place.
  2. Crook County 220.5. Went 4/8 in the semifinals. Had 10 total placers. Has clinched second place.
  3. Thurston 171.5. Went 2/5 in the semifinals. Had 8 total placers. Has clinched third place.
  4. Crater 141.5. Went 2/6 in the semifinals. Had 8 total placers. Has clinched fourth place.

  1. Sweet Home 244.5. Went 2/9 in semifinals. Had 13 total placers.
  2. La Grande 243. Went 7/10 in semifinals. Had 12 total placers. If La Grande wins any 4 of their 7 finals matches, they will win the tournament.
  3. Tillamook 142.5. Went 3/4 in the semifinals. Had 5 total placers. Has clinched third place.
  4. Baker/Powder Valley 91. Went 1/3 in semifinals.
  5. Cascade 87. Went 3/3 in semifinals.
  6. Woodburn 83. Went 2/2 in semifinals. One of these last three teams will be win the fourth place trophy.

  2. Reedsport 93.5. Went 3/5 in semifinals. Had 6 total placers. One of these two teams will win the tournament.
  3. Pine Eagle 69. Has 2 in finals, and had 4 total placers.
  4. Grant Union 66. Has 2 in finals and had 3 total placers.
  5. Central Linn and Oakland, tied at 63. Central Linn has 3 in the finals, and Oakland has 2. Two of these four teams will win trophies tonight.

  1. Thurston 72. Has 3 in finals. Will clinch first place if any of their finalists win. 4 total placers.
  2. Bend 66. Has 1 in finals. If she wins by fall and all of Thurston’s girls lose, they will tie for first place. Will be no worse than second. Had 5 total placers.
  3. Century 38.5. Has 2 in finals, their only placers.
  4. Elmira 38. Has 1 in finals, and 3 total placers.
  5. Glencoe 34. Both of their 2 girls are in the finals. Two of these three teams will win trophies tonight.
