Oct. 5 Statewide Volleyball Coaches Polls

OSAAtoday presents its twice-monthly statewide Volleyball Coaches Polls in all classifications. Thanks to all the coaches who took the time and had the expertise to contribute their opinions to this endeavor.

Please note: these polls are for generating interest and discussion only and have no impact on the OSAA’s RPI and Colley ratings that form the basis of the OSAA’s rankings for playoff purposes.

Notes: Jesuit beat Sunset 25-21, 25-16 and 25-18 in a Metro League match on Tuesday, its second three-set win over the Apollos this season. Sophomore setter Alison Buchholz had 48 assists and senior outside hitter Rose Booth had 15 kills for the Crusaders, who have not lost to an Oregon team this season. Booth has a team-high 243 kills. ... Central Catholic senior Isabella Scarlett had a season-high 22 kills in a win over Sandy on Sept. 27. She leads the Rams with 143 kills and is hitting at a 49.7-percent clip. ... Sprague defeated Summit 25-23, 25-22, 25-20 on Thursday to pull into a first-place tie in the Mountain Valley Conference.

Crater is led by outside hitter Nehkyah Ellis, who has signed with Division II University of Mary (N.D.). She has 163 kills.
