Ally Schimel helped make sure top-seeded and undefeated Corbett is heading back to the OSAA girls basketball quarterfinals. The senior blazed the nets for 45 points Saturday and the Cardinals defeated visiting Burns, the No. 16 seed, 72-44. Lilly Schimel added 20 points and Ella Holwedge six for Corbett, which finished second to Banks at the state tournament last year. ... Nylah Vanthom had 13 points and Jocelyn Janecek eight for fifth-seeded Banks in a 35-27 home win against No. 12 seed Cascade Christian. Jordyn Jones led Cascade Christian with 12 points. ... 

Clarita Arizmendi had 13 points and 17 rebounds and No. 11 seed Nyssa pulled the upset with a 33-22 win at sixth-seeded Pleasant Hill. Nyssa held Pleasant Hill star Clair Crawford to two points. ... Haylee Cleaver had 29 points and Kesley Stepleton 19 in fourth-seeded Vale's 57-29 home win versus No. 20 seed Sisters. Ashley Corcoran had a team-high nine points for Sisters. ... Second-seeded Sutherlin was led by Addyson Clark's 26 points in a 61-47 home win against No. 15 seed Valley Catholic. Madison Huntley added 14 points and 10 rebounds and Madison Wagner 13 points and seven assists for Sutherlin, which was third at state in 2023.

Top-seeded Western Christian allowed nine points in the first quarter but just six the rest of the way in a 54-15 home win against No. 16 Vernonia. ... Josie Grunerud had 15 points, including 10 of 10 at the free-throw line, in sixth-seeded East Linn Christian's 51-36 home loss to No. 11 seed Stanfield, the 2023 state runner-up. ... Fourth-seeded Knappa won its round-of-16 rematch with No. 13 seed Monroe, claiming a 42-37 home win. Knappa trailed by six at halftime but held Monroe to five points in the third quarter to rally for the lead. Alondra Pina had 15 points, including 6 of 8 at the foul line in the fourth, for Knappa, which is making its first trip to Pendleton since 2006. Beth Larsen added seven points off the bench and Mylie Lempea nine rebounds. Monroe won last year's matchup in the same round and went on to finish fifth in state. ... 

Sadie Snyder had 28 points, eight steals and five rebounds to lead 10 seed Oakridge to a 59-52 road win at 7 seed Weston-McEwen. Jade Snyder contributed 19 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks for Oakridge. Also providing highlights for the Warriors included Kimberly Newberry with a conventional three-point play and Alexa Hawkins and Alejandra Arellano with clutch 3-pointers. ... Clara Persons scored 16 points and Hadley Foster added 11 points and nine rebounds for third-seeded Regis in a 57-45 home victory over No. 14 seed Heppner. Mylah Etzel chipped in 13 points, Adelle Otter 11 points and seven rebounds and Kaylee Silbernagel 10 rebounds for Regis. ... A 26-1 first quarter propeled second-seeded Bandon to a 63-24 home win against No. 15 seed Santiam. Katelynn Senn had 24 points and Olivia Thompson 21 with five 3-pointers for Bandon. Maizy Downy had nine points for Santiam.

Kaitlyn Siegner outscored No. 17 seed Trout Lake/Glenwood by herself, getting 25 points in top-seeded Crane's 69-24 home win. Crane was the 2023 state runner-up. ... It took overtime but ninth-seeded Imbler advanced with a 47-45 road win at eighth-seeded North Lake/Paisley. Rachael Stirewalt had 16 points and seven rebounds and Jayda Cant 14 points and eight rebounds for Imbler. Emily Murphy had 25 points, 12 rebounds and three steals for North Lake/Paisley. Hannah Roth added 11 points and 13 rebounds and Acacia Roth four points and four rebounds in defeat. ... 

Emma Seubert scored the game-winning basket in the closing seconds as fourth-seeded Country Christian got past No. 13 seed Union for a 47-44 home win. ... Brooklyn Cyr led second-seeded North Douglas with 24 points in a 53-48 win against No. 18 seed Crosshill Christian. Maddie Vaughn added 11 points and Graycie Rodgers nine for North Douglas. Sierra Poush led Crosshill with 14 points, Zoey Baker 13 and Claire Fish nine. Crosshill's Allie Rowzee hit a late game-tying 3-pointer. Rodgers answered with a deep ball of her own and Cyr sank two free throws to complete the scoring.
