Friday's winners advance to the 1A final Saturday.

Three-time reigning state champion Crane moved to the brink of two historical achievements by routing Country Christian 73-33 in the semifinals of the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 1A boys basketball tournament Friday at Baker High School.

The second-seeded Mustangs (29-0) extended their winning streak to 56, tying a state record with Oakland (1999-2001). With a win in Saturday's final against No. 1 Mannahouse Academy, they not only would break the record, but would join 6A Jesuit (2009-12) and 6A West Linn (2013-16) as the only teams in state history to win four consecutive championships.

But Mannahouse Academy, a 2A semifinalist last year that dropped down to 1A this season, presents a formidable obstacle. Crane defeated the Lions 57-53 on Jan. 3, the Mustangs' closest game of the season.

In Friday's win over No. 6 Country Christian (22-8), 6-7 senior post Cody Siegner made 13 of 19 field-goal attempts and finished with 29 points and 16 rebounds. Josh Zander added 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Mustangs, who shot 55.2 percent (32 for 58).

Crane blew out to a 27-4 lead after one quarter behind 12 points from Siegner. The lead grew to 31-4 early in the second quarter on Siegner's second dunk of the game.

The Mustangs held Country Christian to 24.5-percent shooting (13 for 53), including 1 for 20 on three-pointers. Country Christian's Tyson Smith – who scored 37 points in the quarterfinals against Nixyaawii, making seven three-pointers – finished with 10 points on 5 for 21 from the field, 0 for 11 from three-point range.

No. 1 Mannahouse Academy 77, No. 5 North Douglas 44: The Lions (28-3) advanced to their first state championship game since 2013, when they were known as City Christian and captured the 1A title.

Guard Nolan Schweiss led the way with 24 points, five rebounds and two steals. Schweiss shot 8 of 10 from the field, hitting all four of his three-point attempts, and was 4 for 4 on free throws.

Joshua Louka, a 6-10 senior, had 15 points and 15 rebounds, helping Mannahouse Academy to a 42-28 edge on the boards. Mattias Tonning made four three-pointers and finished with 16 points and five rebounds. Caleb Dickinson added nine points, five rebounds and seven assists.

The Lions led 25-9 when Louka hit a jumper early in the second quarter. They were up 40-18 at halftime and would not allow the Warriors (25-4) any closer than 16 points in the second half. They went on an 18-0 run in the fourth quarter to make it 77-42.

North Douglas lost in the semifinals for the third year in a row. Jayden Montgomery scored 17 points and Hunter Vaughn had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Warriors.
