Kenzie Kleiner had nine points for the 10th-seeded Lady Cavers. ... Sophie Maxwell hit the winning basket with 16 seconds left as No. 9 West Linn edged defending state runner-up Benson 43-41. The eighth-seeded Astros had two chances to tie at the end but Kaylor Buse — who also collected 10 rebounds and four assists — ended the game with a blocked shot. Reese Jordan led the Lions with 16 points and grabbed six rebounds. Ayla Arnold chipped in with 12 points and five boards. Kemara Phillips and Jayla Lackey scored nine each for a young Benson team that featured only one senior on its roster this season.

Top seed Crater is hoping to build on last season’s second-place finish, and the Comets improved to 25-0 against Oregon schools in a 63-30 win over No. 16 Lebanon. Crater scored 27 points in a decisive second quarter that built its lead to 43-13 at halftime. Sage Winslow had 16 points to lead the way, with Taylor Young notching 15. Nine different Comets scored. Lebanon was led by Hazel Pepperling’s 12 points. ... All 10 players on Silverton’s roster scored as the defending champions flew past Hillsboro 62-18. Silverton led 29-7 at halftime and 52-11 through three quarter. Maggie Davisson had 18 points to lead the second-seeded Foxes. Hadley Craig added 14. Amaya Johnson scored 10 to lead the Spartans. ... Karlee Martirano added 15 points and nine rebounds while Lily Hamblin had 10 points and 12 boards. An apparent serious injury to a Caldera player early in the game shook both teams, and the score was just 7-1 West Albany after one quarter. Paisley Waldron made four 3-pointers and scored 12 points for the 10th-seeded Wolfpack. ... Gabi Moultrie dominated with 25 points, six assists and five steals as No. 8 Wilsonville held off Corvallis 53-41. No. 1 Philomath battled its way into the quarterfinals with a decisive 58-23 victory over No. 16 North Bend. The Warriors led by only two after eight minutes, but pushed the lead to 15 with a 15-2 second quarter. They then outscored the Bulldogs 20-3 in the final frame. Reagan Heiken did the heavy lifting with 18 points, 14 rebounds and five steals. Anneka Steen had a big all-around game with 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Erica McClintock was the top scorer for North Bend with seven points. ... Second-seeded Stayton improved to 24-1 by getting past Phoenix 65-26. The trio of Kathryn Samek (15 points), Korbyn Schmidt (12) and Breeci Hampton (11) each reached double figures for the Eagles. Alissa Alvarez scored 15 points to lead the 15th-seeded Pirates. ... Defending champion Henley saw a 20-point lead pared down to six in the second half, but the No. 3 Hornets regained their footing down the stretch and downed No. 14 St. Helens 72-60 for their 15th straight win. ...

Cascade was locked in a tight game well into the fourth quarter against upset-minded Junction City, but the fifth-seeded Cougars edged away from the 12th-seeded Tigers in the final minutes to win 47-38. ... Mya Feeney went 14-for-14 from the free-throw line and scored 21 points to help No. 7 Seaside turn around a seven-point third-quarter deficit and beat 10th-seeded Marist Catholic 54-46. Carly Corder made three 3-pointers and scored 19. Seaside was 23-for-30 from the line overall. McKenna De Lee nailed seven 3-pointers for Marist Catholic and scored 25 points. The Seagulls avenged a 10-point loss to the Spartans in December. ... No. 8 Crook County shook off a seven-point halftime deficit and stormed back to beat ninth-seeded Astoria 59-46. After switching from a zone defense to man-to-man to start the second half, the Cowgirls outscored the Fishermen 39-19. Hayden Decker scored 19 points for Crook County, with Harper Smith adding 15 and Emily Henderson 11. The trio made three 3-pointers each. Crook County has won 11 straight games after starting the season 5-9. Malory Dundas scored 12 points to lead Astoria, which finished second last year.
