Rankings Freeze and Play-In Dates Summary

3A Baseball

20-team OSAA bracket

  1. Automatic Qualifiers – Fifteen teams automatically qualify for the OSAA's 20-team bracket based on regular season and/or district tournament play on or before Thursday, May 22. Each Special District determines how they will select their allotted playoff spots.
    1. Mountain Valley Conference - 2; Far West League - 2; Southern Oregon Conference - 2; Special District 1 – 3; Special District 2 – 3; Special District 3 – 3;  

      Mountain Valley Conference - Sisters, Creswell
      Far West League - South Umpqua, Glide
      Southern Oregon Conference - Cascade Christian, North Valley
      Special District 1 - Warrenton, Horizon Christian(Tualatin), Banks
      Special District 2 - Burns/Crane, Vale, McLoughlin
      Special District 3 - Blanchet Catholic, Taft, Santiam Christian

  2. Rankings Freeze Date – The rankings will freeze at 10pm on Thursday, May 22 (includes all games played that day).


  3. At-Large Qualifier – Five additional teams will qualify for the OSAA's 20-team bracket based on the OSAA rankings.
    1. Once the rankings are frozen, the next five highest ranked teams not already an automatic qualifier from any League/Special District will qualify as one of the At-Large teams.

        At-Large - La Pine
        At-Large - Lakeview
        At-Large - Yamhill-Carlton
        At-Large - Brookings-Harbor
        At-Large - Joseph/Enterprise/Wallowa

  4. Rankings – Once the 20 qualifying teams are determined, they will be placed on the OSAA bracket according to OSAA Executive Board Policy "State Championships – Rankings".
